The genetics. The grief. The strength. The conversations we didn't know how to have. The bodies we live in. The bodies we love. The parts of ourselves we refuse to hide. We want to see your interpretation. Frame of Mind is inviting artists to submit work for THE COLORS WE CARRY, an exhibition exploring breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and the BRCA mutation through art. 🎀 Pink. 🩵 Teal. 🧬 DNA. 🫀 Bodies. ✂️ Scars. 🔥 Survival. 🖤 Loss. ✨ Hope. Your work can be beautiful. It can be uncomfortable. It can be funny. It can be angry. It can be intimate. It can be loud. It can show the human body in all forms. It can show scars. It can challenge the way we look at bodies, illness, genetics, femininity, and survival. There is no single way to tell this story. We are looking for painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, collage, mixed media, fiber, illustration, printmaking, and other visual mediums that speak to the experience of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, BRCA mutations—or the people, bodies, families, and stories connected to them.
