Welcome to The Art Lab at Frame of Mind, bringing Missoula a variety of art classes from staff and professional teachers. Our unique art classes aim to bring together like minded creators in support of community, inspiration, growth, and education. Whether you are a new artist, skilled and educated, or just love to do art as a hobby, The Art Lab classes can help you to further your education, create a community, and become inspired.
Class Type Descriptions
pro-CRAFT-ination Classes
Need some midweek inspiration? Join us for our Pro-CRAFT-ination classes, a new way to start that project you’ve been holding off on, or hang with fellow makers! These classes provide the perfect space to dive into your projects. Whether you need a dedicated spot to work, or you’re looking to connect with a vibrant community of fellow makers, our Pro-CRAFT-ination classes are for you. Find inspiration, get helpful tips, and share your passion with like-minded individuals.
Reservations and walk-ins welcome. Classes start at $5.00, or buy and bulk and save. Make sure to take advantage of our class punch card, attend 12 classes, get one free!
Classes are BYOB…so bring your favorite sip and let the creativity flow!
Skills & Crafts Classes
Want to learn a new skill or hobby? Something a little outside the box, but a great way to help keep your artistic side growing? Check out our Skill Classes. These classes are aimed to teach you a specific skill set in a one-time class environment. Learn a skill that can be easily replicated at home with the right tools and supplies.
Beginner Series
Our series classes are courses lasting 6-8 weeks, depending on which medium and skill level you choose. Classes are held once a week, and continue where the last one ended, giving you a mini art education at a fraction of the cost. Our Beginner Series are perfect for those new to the world of art. Have you always wanted to learn to paint, but have been too nervous to jump in on your own? Or do you love to doodle, but want to learn the skills to turn your scribbles into sketches? These classes are aimed to give you an introduction to the medium, teach you about the tools of the trade, and to get you set up to feel confident in your art.
Intermediate Series
Our series classes are courses lasting 6-8 weeks, depending on which medium and skill level you choose. Classes are held once a week, and continue where the last one ended, giving you a mini art education at a fraction of the cost. Our Intermediate Series are for those who have a basic understanding of tools and the medium, but want to learn more, and to hone in their skills to start becoming a serious artist.
Advanced Series
Our series classes are courses lasting 6-8 weeks, depending on which medium and skill level you choose. Classes are held once a week, and continue where the last one ended, giving you a mini art education at a fraction of the cost. Our Advanced Series are for artists who have trained in the specific medium, and want to learn techniques and skills to master their style. These classes are for artists to spend quality time with the educators and other students. This includes studio time, group critiques, and more individual sessions.
Guest Educator Classes
Our guest educator classes will be hosted by artists from around Missoula and surrounding areas who want to bring their knowledge and skills to the public. Learn from the masters in one-time classes or series classes. Get inspired by artists who have been in the business for years. These classes are part lecture, part studio time, with a Q&A at the end of each session.
